About Us
Because as we see it, farming should be a growth business.
To say that farming has changed in recent decades is an understatement. Today’s farmers are CEOs of complex, capital-intensive businesses facing unprecedented challenges—tightening credit, rising input costs, supply chain disruptions, complex aid programs, regulations, climate volatility, and the list goes on. The stakes and pressures have never been higher.
Meanwhile, farmers and their advisors are drowning in data but starving for insights. Critical farm data is trapped in silos, decisions become expensive guesswork, and farm profit margins, well, they get whittled away.
Let’s face it: money is no longer made just by tending the land and growing a good crop. It now requires evenings spent on the computer, hours pouring over spreadsheets managing numbers.
It’s complicated and it’s a real problem, one Tilley was born to solve.
Pioneered by ag insiders—generational farmers, crop insurance experts, ag lenders, and commodity brokers—we built Tilley to level the playing field for farmers, giving them a much-needed edge in an industry that’s gotten increasingly complex and distressingly one-sided.
Our purpose is clear: deliver accurate insights to farmers and their advisors when they need them, and how they need them.
After all, farming should be a growth business. And Tilley is here to make sure it is.
MEET OUR FOUNDER
Joe Jennings
Joe Jennings grew up on a farm in Laurel, Mississippi. He graduated from Mississippi State, where he earned degrees in agricultural economics and banking and finance. Joe served as state president of Mississippi’s National FFA Organization, and as he puts it, has never forgotten his roots as a struggling Southern family farmer.
After a successful Wall Street career developing risk management tools for major banks, he had a realization: the sophisticated financial analytics that big investors used to make millions weren’t available to the farmers who needed them most.
In 2014, Joe returned to agriculture, founding Jordan River Advisors to bring Wall Street-level analysis directly to farmers. His proprietary models help farmers time commodity sales by predicting market peaks and troughs.
Joe’s fascination with why one farmer prospers while another struggles led him to found Tilley.
Today, Joe combines his farming upbringing, Wall Street expertise, and passion for agriculture to build technology that actually works for farmers.
His guiding principle: if it doesn’t help the farmer, it doesn’t happen.

MEET OUR PRESIDENT
James Brown
James Brown brings a proven track record of turning agricultural innovations into market successes. As founder of CropGuard, James understands the challenge of bringing new technology to farmers who've seen too many promising solutions fail to deliver. His diverse background spans strategy, sale, and supply chain across the agriculture and food industries, giving him a 360-degree view of what farmers actually need versus what tech companies think they need.
James has built his career finding that sweet spot where innovative technology meets real-world farming problems—and more importantly, where farmers see genuine value worth paying for. His entrepreneurial mindset and experience commercializing agricultural technologies make him the perfect leader to guide Tilley’s growth. At Tilley, James focuses on ensuring every feature, every tool and every decision serves one purpose: helping farmers make more money with less hassle.
